Pros and cons of iVault pro - password manager app for iPhone and iPad

iVault pro - password manager app good for

This application works as described. The backup and restore function requires an additional subscription fee of US$14 for 24 months. There is also a one year subscription available for less. Ive been waiting for this type of cross-platform secure password storage system to become available (assuming they really make web access possible). One thing to stay aware of is that when you exit this or any iPhone application the final screen may be saved to create the disappearing screen effect. I recommend exiting from a screen that shows no sensitive information.
iVault Pro is definitely an ideal choice for people like me who likes to catalog every single details for an item. Not only that it allows us to create as many field as possible, preset templates are also provided to ease your job when inputting those details. However, if you want to use iVault Pro to store your web login and password, iVault Pro might not be the one you are looking because it doesnt have sorting method implemented. For such purpose, I would recommend SplashID as it is designed to cater such needs. iVault Pro could use some improvement like enable user to create their custom icon for those categories and items. The current icons that claimed to be exclusively designed may not suits for a certain category. In fact, SplashID does offers various stylish icons that you will know what that icon means without even looking at the name of the category of item. The bottomline is, iVault Pro could do the job well done when it comes to catalog any item. But if you are looking for an application to store your credit card info, web logins and password, iVault Pro might not be your choice, look for other alternative like SplashID or Things.
This app is a lifesaver. And contrary to lower ratings, you CAN set and use a password. Go to settings and READ the instructions and if you follow those instructions exactly then your password will work. But be careful because ivault cannot give your password back to you so pick something clever but more importantly pick something that you are 100% certain you couldnt forget. And contrary to another review I read on here, this app does fine with storing online account info and passwords. You just have to adjust the fields and customize them accordingly, which can be time consuming but effective overall. I cannot stress how many times this app has come to my rescue because I store all of my filing cabinets vital information in it. And its impossible to remember all the important numbers that life expects us to remember. This app remembers everything for us, from dates to social security numbers to bank account information. I think it has come to my rescue most when filling out employment applications because you can store information pertaining to old jobs and addresses in the app; hire dates, resignation dates, salary info, old employment addresses and names of old supervisors for potential references. I would not be as prompt as I am without it! Its my new digital filing cabinet and its worth every penny!
I need several things from a digital wallet 1. The information must be stored on the wallet such that no one can access it without my password even if my iphone is lost or stolen. 2. I need to be able to recover/access this information from anywhere in the world in the event my iphone is lost or stolen. Moreover, I must have access to this information without installing an application on another computer and without requiring administrator privilege on that computer. This is important if you lose your iphone while travelling. 3. I need to be able to edit and enter information on a real keyboard using a real computer. Iphone text entry is too slow for anything but small amounts of data. 4. Data stored on a public server (for access in the event my iphone is lost/stolen; or for editing/entry) must be encrypted before transmission and must be store such that nobody (including the service provider) can access my information or my password. IVault provides all these capabilities for $10 (for the app) and $14 for 2 years of their "ivault for web" service. This the perfect solution for protecting your personal information such that you can access it when you need it (even if your iphone is lost or stolen) while preventing anyone else from being able to access it. The only complaint I have is that the app. tends to crash while entering new information. However, this is not an issue when you enter information using their web application.
the app works fine. when you set the new password, you must click on the red button "Create or change password" only then you click the "done" button at the top.. Few crashes, but overall it is a decent piece of software.
This is - hands down - the best password storage app on itunes!

Some bad moments

Poor application. Shake to lock does not work - information is not locked from anyone looking at my phone. I would love to get my money back on this one.
Jericoa made a big issue out of being able to save photos to iVault. HOWEVER they DO NOT say anywhere that there is a LIMIT of ONLY 50 photos/pictures/graphics in TOTAL! This limit MUST be removed for this to be a serious application! What other arbitrary limitations have they slipped into this app that people will only discover AFTER purchasing and trying to use it. IF they remove the graphic storage limit (and any other, as yet unknown, limits) Ill change my star rating. But until then I strongly urge people to stay away from this program. You might get caught like me… having invested a lot of time & $10 only to discover the app is USELESS to me.
I have to say this to update my review. If you dont use iTunes to send a help request, their support response was fairly quick. Their "bedside manner" could use a touch of work, but overall, not bad support response. They were able to help get the app working for me. Personally, I find the app great for storing information, ie..credit card, contacts etc. but tedious and way to much for simply storing pictures, which is what I was wanting it for. Overall, good app. (Jericoa, please stop sending requests that I remove my review. Thank You.)
Wish I could get my money back. Not what the advertising list as. Research this product before buying it.
Seller doesnt warn that backup site (web) is paid. I wouldnt have bought if I knew, because backup is essential.
I bought this app almost 2 years ago and was generally satisfied until the time when I needed the support service. I contacted them trying to retrieve my saved file because the only payment option was through PayPal which does not include Egypt (where I live). I was hoping that I find a more considerate answer other than solve your issue with PayPal. In other words, theyre telling me to go to hell!!!!!!!!!
